"Crow on the Wire" by thehachmom |
They sit there so proudly
So stoically
So elegant against the sky.
No wonder Poe was so inspired
By their slightly larger Brethren.
I have been told
That they are Sentinels.
I don't know for sure,
But I always say hello
When I hear them caw.
This makes me realize that I really don't see a lot of crows anymore. They really are beautiful birds, very striking. Really nice poem :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think they are beautiful birds too.
DeleteI am glad you have a positive take on crows. I love birds but I don't really like crows. They are taking over (plus, it might be true that Hitchcock's The Birds scares the hell out of me ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of crows around here, but the only thing they seem to have chased off are pigeons which are really useless birds in mY opinion.
DeleteMy husband and I saw a crow the other day when we went for a hike. Of course, we're out in the country, getting away from the city.

ReplyDeleteVery nicely written, I really like your outlook
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's cliche, but crows can seem so menacing without even doing anything.
